Bana Event Branding.

 

Background

BANA – The Black Agencies Network Association of South Africa – is a collaborative business to business network and advocacy group whose sole purpose is to increase the slice of business for 100% Black-owned and majority Black-run agencies in the Advertising and Communications industry, reported to be less than 2% of R58 billion of traditional advertising spend as per the latest estimates.

Challenge

Create a brand identity that represents BANA’s grand ambitions. The brand identity should be Simple, Scalable, Memorable, Versatile, and Relevant. Most importantly it should be versatile enough to work as an event identity as well so that we don’t end up with multiple identities for this new brand.

The Approach

Just like charity begins at home, we have to start making changes in our homes and society. We need to work together to make a better advertising environment for Africans before we can change the world.

 

Africa has a wealth of patterns, everywhere you look you will see repetitions of shapes and colours, textures and lines laid out in all sorts of arrangements. A major form of expression, African patterns are popular as a means of personal adornment and a medium of communication.

 

We went with a visual route that uses colourful graphic patterns that represent the organisation, the patterns will convey;

  • Connecting
  • Building
  • Change
  • Trust and
  • Unity amongst black agencies within the advertising fraternity

Results

Using branding(graphics, pictures and video) assists with the successful launch of BANA.

 

Help black-owned and black-controlled agencies To sit at the main table. To gain a larger piece of the pie. Not be left with just a few crumbs…
